11:00 AM: New England Patriots punter Zoltan Mesko hosted a karaoke night with about 30 of his teammates to help raise money for the Children's Hospital of Boston.

10:45 AM: Police in Guyana have arrested a man on attempted murder charges for shooting into a crowd during a soccer game. Three people were wounded, including former Guyana soccer player Oriley Small.

10:30 AM: After defeating LSU to advance to their first-ever College World Series, the front page of the Stony Brook athletics website features a photo of the Seawolves baseball team giving the "OK" sign with the headline, "Shock The World!"

10:15 AM: Oakland Raider rookie defensive lineman Christo Bilukidi tweeted that he got out of a $428 ticket for running a red light after he told a police officer that he played for the NFL club.

8:00 PM: Brian Banks has accepted an invite to a formal tryout with the Seattle Seahawks, but will first take part in a workout for the Kansas City Chiefs. Banks spent five years in prison on rape charges, but last month had his conviction overturned after his accuser admitted that she lied.

7:15 PM: Boston Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine was not happy with the officiating during this weekend's games against the Washington Nationals: "Good umpires had a real bad series this series - real bad series. And it went one way. There should be a review."

6:30 PM: Police in Nigeria say they have rescued soccer player Christian Obodo after he was kidnapped in front of a church Saturday morning. Obodo is a former Nigerian national team player who is currently with Italian club Udinese.

6:15 PM: Texas Rangers relief pitcher Alexi Ogando left Sunday's game against the San Francisco Giants after apparently suffering a groin injury running to first base after laying a bunt against Tim Lincecum.

6:00 PM: Eight Russian soccer fans in Poland for Euro 2012 were arrested for fighting in two bars & causing $1,000 in damage, while 14 fans were arrested for brawling in the main square of the city of Poznan before Sunday's Croatia vs. Ireland match.
